The United States Institute of Makeup Artistry (USIMA) was established on August 6, 2011, Saturday in Huntington Beach by Giselle Boone, executive director of Miss Orange County California, as a training program for teaching women to become more proficient, knowledgeable and skilled in the art of makeup applications and techniques. At first, the focus was to help the contestants learn the basic skills of applying makeup on their for personal interview followed by a dramatic makeup application on stage. Because of the great success in helping all the students become very confident in applying their own makeup while looking very professional, soon, people from all walks of life have contacted Giselle Boone for makeup lessons around the country.
Giselle Boone was a former free lance makeup artist for MAC, an award-winning business manager for Prescriptives and had worked with some of the top makeup companies in the country such as Trish McEvoy, Smashbox, Estee Lauder, Chanel and more. As a skilled makeup teacher and demonstrator, she had worked with many diverse group of makeup artists who are now working in the Fashion Industry and makeup counters across the USA. Giselle Boone is currently very active in lending her makeup expertise for LA Fashion Week, Style Fashion Week LA and Palm Springs and more. She is also currently working with some of the top modeling agency photographers in Orange County and Los Angeles such as Curt Nordling, Dan Pham and more.
